The wheels are fitted with Jag wheel nuts that seem strange.  They feel like the chrome covers are loose.

Wheel progress.  It may seem mad to be painting items when I still have a huge amount of mechanical work to complete.  However, my logic is that I may as well paint while the weather is god.  Front wheel fitted

Tiny progress. Got some Dutton stickers for the wheel centres. Dutton in silver text should look good on the black gloss wheels

Daryl - This week I have been working on the car before breakfast everyday.  Can't work on it in the evenings as I am on furniture painting duties.

My inspiration for a colour scheme.  I am thinking, matt graphite, matt black and a gloss black detail highlighted with yellow pinstripes

I did the list to kick myself up the backside as it illustrates my progress has been too slow, about one task per year.

James - I have no choice but to sort the dash as the car had been left out in weather, so all gauges and dash had got water inside. The column is just a case of extending it as was too tight to the dash. The bodywork needs sorting as the front wings have been cut off

Steering column: are you thinking of electric PAS from a Corsa?

Instruments, dash and bodywork could end up being big, open-ended affairs. you could leave them as something to do in the following few winters and concentrate on the mechanical bits necessary to get it on the road.

But as long as you are enjoying it and making progress, then that is good.

Umm? Optimism or pessimism Dave? Glass half empty or full? You are making progress. That's one of my mantras to the tune of the Dutton waltz. Bit of a two step, one forward, one back etc. Good luck :-))
