So, MOT sorted by the skin of its teeth, loads to do before tomorrow morning, panic has set it due to a little mishap with the pedal box...

How many of you fitted metal spreader plates between the pedal box and the bulkhead? Here is something for those of you with pinto engines to think about.

I didn't see this coming 8 years ago when I re built it... The holes are supposed to be there... the crack around the edge is not.

Seems the proximity to the manifold has weakened the fibreglass of the tub a little

Well a lot actually :)

A metal spreader plate on the inside would have eased the load on the area and this may not have been quite so severe. This is going to be a fun evening..

Now all I have to do is put back all the bits I removed to get access to the gubbins underneath and start cleaning.

Up close the inside has suffered from the 6 month layup, plenty of water under the carpet so a bit of a whiff, going to be rough with the roof on :(

Good un Ade, midnight oil has its uses.

Pass with advisories... 'your going to need a new wiper blade'...

Seems that rose joints do not need dust covers - win. Another lesson learned too... visible toe in is a pain, looked fine on the stands but with everything back on the floor it is out by quite some way, a visit to ATS in the morning should be right then.

I forgot the difference in performance between the Sierra and the Leggy, had to rein it in a bit as the old right foot was twitching...

oops... I bought a LH thread rose joint, oh well I'll use it on the tension bars I guess.

Better order another rh thread tonight then :(

Right handed each end, have a few here if you want one

Question - Escort mk2 steering rack, is it supposed to be two normal threads or one left and one right handed?

I might have a set of classic capri struts in the lock up complete with discs however they will be VERY rusty by now as were in rough nick when I put them in about four years ago :) They were spares from when I converted my old 105E back in 1998...

I've PM'd you the item numbers Rob.
