Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

Any one out there willing to put their hopefully standard (as near as possible) Dutton Phaeton (or a Malaga B+) on a show stand for the duration of a show with 20-30 similar early kit cars at Donnington?

The car should be as early as possible with a tidy appearance and on as near as possible contemporary wheels and as close too the factory design as is feasible, it does not need to be a concourse car  just tidy. Something to show us all in a good light. Suggestions please.

fewh! glad you said that Ade coz I doubted I'd get it buck she and the missus would go nuts which is rather fair as just surprised her with a whole new body for the car as a spare.

Well i will have a proper play this weekend and if anyone wants to pop around and have a nosey then feel free.

I'm not sure that would be acceptable as it is the main feature area of the show however we can but ask Mr Stent and see how he feels about it. However if the advert was on the car itself you might get away with it.

What we could do with is another central show in the next few weeks so we can all meet up and check stuff out.

To be honest the bits of the photo's that were undamaged looked nice and smooth, positively shiny in places John. And in brighter light you can see its blue now. Washing it obviously worked.

question? I've been on the blag today to some bodyshops near to me getting some ideas of cost for a full respray in time for 1st/2nd Sept at Donny. I've said to them (and as I said, I have been blagging it), but would I be able to put some of their company logos/adverts up around the car so they get free advertisement and the respray is free??????? not sure on deal with the show.

this is all assuming the general conscientious want me to bring my S1. I know the car looks worn so understand if some people think it would show Dutton's up!?!?!?!?

morning all.

just so you all know, I am about to upload several pictures showing some of the worse parts of the bodywork. I'm sure it can be improved a lot but certainly looks its age of at least 15 years old paint!

I've message Nick.

I think a small gazeebo will be in order at donnington so I can bring the big polisher and let people shine their cars up.

" besides S1‘s are mostly 1978-9 reg " there was almost as many sold 1980-1981 as mid 78- end 79. lots are reg'd '80 onward. I would spend less time worrying about age and more on condition and quality. Nick W's is another good and original car and an S3 which was a very popular version.
