Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

No, nothing like that I can assure you :-) Due to some inconsiderate tw*t hitting my Saab putting it in the garage at my expense, I've had to press the Sierra back into service. Luckily I had not got to far into doing the swap over, so a simple job to recommission. Decided for the first time to use the heater, now the Sierra is not entirely water tight, so after 15 minutes steam started to be blown out the vents. This condensed on the glass and no amount of wiping etc. would clear it. Thinking the heater was naff I thought another job while its stripped out. A quick nosey and it appears the housing was full of leaves which were wet. Cleaned it all out and still I have steamy windows. Driving with the windows open soon clears it but it is fun to see the damp air being thrown out the vents. Heater is not leaking just never used in 12 years, hopefully it will dry out a bit each trip. Or I'll just turn the thing off.

We never were, in fact I still don't, leave the job for 30 minutes after a weld completion. Stop work and hang around, getting paid ! Even when we were on the M5 bridge at Bristol. Outdoors in snow, still had to let cooling off.

We used air grinders, big 12" inch things, throw sparks for miles, used to spray the planners and drawing office guy's, sent them scattering, white hats were a target, stood around watching us work while they plotted, naval engineers were fair game too :-)) Extra points were awarded if you could get the Constructor, he was hated by all.

Arc Eye, find a place to lay down, get a couple of wet tea bags and put over your eyes, sheer bliss, heaven. Have also used cucumber from my sandwiches, it works and if you get hungry you can snack on them. I watched American Chopper and the Muppets were using Ray bans. Show business ??

I think like everything, technology has moved on and the price has come tumbling down, just reading the spec on some on eBay, for £20 really ??  I've nursed this screen for years had it serviced and maintained, it's air fed which I don't really need now, so I could buy a new one every year and still be quids in. The only important bit is the eye piece and they all seem to have the correct standard, so do I have flames, eagles, monkeys or stay stealthy black they even have carbon fibre.
