Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

Finishing the engine refit, wiring the capri dash and fitting the brightest LED daytime running lights EVER instead of sidelights... I'll see if I can get away with it as they are not E marked. ( I have a backup plan just in case)

" Just a thought but if a Dutton is now a classic car, is there merit in trying to keep it original? "

By merit do you mean value? if so then I doubt it.

I have been looking at motorbike led lamps for my new project front and rear. headlights in led lamps are £270 each!! So maybe not them just yet.

"Thinking on... I would only need one led but with two feeds, a resistor on the side light feed and 12 v on the brake feed should do the trick."

What would happen if you had the sidelights on and braked? Surely the way you are talking about wiring it would then get two lots of power and may pop?

Thinking on... I would only need one led but with two feeds, a resistor on the side light feed and 12 v on the brake feed should do the trick.

If they did them in red and amber they would make the smallest back light setup ever.

I bought a set of four of these 18mm across with a lens of about 12mm, brighter than my headlights but they have limited range. Solid ally bolt fixing, very small but potent. At that price I may end up replacing the main bulbs on the Sierra with these all round. will have to fit two in the stop/tail and have a small resistor (220ohm) on the tail to drop the light level.

@Mike - Clutch/primary input shaft having a row over grot on the splines, caused the clutch to jam on.
@Dave T - It will be payback for all the merc and BMW drivers that have been blinding me for the past 6 years on my way to work. White lasers ... suffer bitches.
@Dave P - stripped both tacho's and swapped internals, Stole the stainless panel off the legerra (will be replaced with burr walnut) made an MDF skeleton to mount every thing on and for once I have working heater controls for the winter. WIN

E marking is not checked for MOT. also a car the age of yours prob won't need “E“marking anyway....
