the problem with this "buy UK idea" is that on paper its all laudable but produce will always be dearer in the long run...i am all for reducing the EU produce we buy, a few months of reduced trade from us will make some of the EU ministers pay attention and look to working out a deal to make all of this work.
the EU is also going to suffer from our going as well, other than Germany the EU mostly consists of struggling economies, (France is in deep doggy do do.....) to loose just about the only other growth economy is going to ave a real impact on the value of the euro.
I have a feeling the EU will negotiate a deal looking like nothing has changed other than we are no longer part of the club....it isn't in their interest to be punitive for all of their rhetoric, they stand to loose in a big way, but for now they will have to bang the drum and make lots of noise. for the look of the thing.
I voted to remain, i think we made the wrong decision. but we have to get the best from it as we are able to. I am all for making them wait for us to activate clause 50 (whatever its named) as a bit of refection by both sides will aid some clarity in what’s to be done, besides the uncertainty it will cause for the rest of the EU will also give strength to our bargaining hand once we do start.
Rob, it is not as simple as that. Have a look at this video presentation: “Dishonesty on an industrial scale”.
Buy British? Will there be any alternative in our self-selected isolation? You should be buying foreign while you still can.
