What better feeling is there than, pulling on a clean pair of overalls and walking into the workshop again after too much Christmas indulgence? Mind you Im sure they were not this tight last week!
Box of final bits to fit to the Phaeton under arm and a pint of milk in hand.
After 7 years I have nearly completed exactly what I set out to achieve, the rebuilding of a Dutton S2 Phaeton, keeping it looking as it was originally intended, but ironing out and refining all the idiosyncrasies that are synonymous with Dutton.

You need to replicate that photo after its gone through the MOT, do you know where it was taken?
Thats a good idea, I can probably find out, it was a university from memory.
Is it me or are those leading edges of the back arches different to norm?? Love the pic. Steel wheels and all. Black and white is so.........arty??
I have no idea why but it reminds me of a photo from when Sue was at college, Balls Park, Stevenage area?
i asked sue and she says its not balls park.
B+ boot without the side fuel filler hole. Malaga front without the bonnet bumps, strange front to those arches.

They were the days James, kaftan and purple fur. Loon pants and long hair :-))
Never seen rear fenders like that. Were those custom made?
From what I was told there were a few made with those arches, I know at least one ended it's days in the USA James, we had some photo's a while back, I'll see if I can find them.
It was supposed to be more aerodynamic evidently, If you compare it to the race cars of the era like the lola and porsche you can see where the idea might have hatched from, not so sure that a B would go fast enough to create downforce though.
With your fronts James (in Florida) and these rears, you could have something unique :-)
