Do I remember someone saying that monsoon cant make new doors but they can re cover yours if you want ?
Viewing the green s4 on Fri afternoon and it hasn't got any weather gear

They told me a while back they could do S4 etc. But not the early stuff S1 B+ etc. But that was 18 months back. I got an old pair and the local sailmaker covered them for me.

Monsoon did say they could re-do old frames but not make the actual frames as they had no patterns.

I have been asking for 18 months if they would take an old legerra top and make a new one as they've also 'lost' the pattern for that too, got bloody nowhere...

The frame is easy pezzee to make, if you only want one set it's getting them covered. The sailmaker told me never again, has to stitch very close to framework, I even tried a custom shoe made for his machine, but it was hard work. Hoods he can do as there's no metal work involved. He even did mine blue.

Correct. Monsoon took over ployfacto who had all the dutton tooling. But they get a better return making wet weather gear for classics and modern rather than kit cars.
Getting wet weather gear made bespoke now is very expensive as there are so few people with the skills. Might be time for "the club" to invest in recreating the side door tooling and hood frame.

I tried a few places up here but the prices are high. I even thought it would be cheaper to buy the industial sewing machine and make the roof myself... at least it might fit then.

I also thought about body shaped lower sections made from fibreglass over foam with ally frames like the windscreen for the melos/phaeton. Might have to have a go at that with my S4.

Not even sure yet if the car Hass a hood frame
Don't "really" want the s4 an the lack of weather gear is another tick in the "no" box and I bet if I buy it 2 or 3 legs will come along in the next few weeks

I can see your mum being inundated with grotty old vinyl tops very shortly. How about the clear parts?
