efi doesn't have a distribution head, as said earlier the pressure is controled by the pressure regulator at the fuel rail. 2.8i 'clunk' used Bosch K and KE jetronic, 2.0l Pinto and beyond used Ford fuel injection design with motarola ecu (eeec4 or 5) and bosch electronic fuel injectors, fpr & pump. The Bosch pump will actually dead end at about 8.5 bar but not for long as it soon burns out at that. It will supply its rated volume at 5bar but most oems only used it to about 3.5bar. Nowadays with direct petrol injection its back to mechanical pumps - so much for progress lol
I don't think that they do 130 l/hr @ 6.5 bar. I think the 130l/hr is into a bucket, i.e. 0 bar. By the way, 1 l/hr is equivalent to about 3 bhp, so 130 l/hr would be a bit of a monster. I think a 2.8 would 'only' use 50 l/hr. In a 2.8 Capri you'd be doing ~125mph so 11 gallons/hr for 125 miles/hr = 11mpg. Sounds about right.
What price are those pumps, Ade?
I'm just quoting the figures given by the website (which I trust) Other fuel pumps are available
This should make it easy for you Brian ..... take your pick. http://www.jjcraceandrally.com/race/fuel-pumps
Sorry forgot to say, check the High Pressure and Fuel injection boxes on the left of the page to give you the selection you require.
