Never doubted it Paul, time for some fun, maybe a bash in some Devon lanes :-))

Well done Paul

Just been going through the clipboards of miscellaneous paper from during the S2 restoration, and I found a list of lengths of wiring used as I went, each time I cut some I measured it before fitting and wrote it down for later interest.  It adds up to 191 meters total length of individual wires !!!!!! and that doesn't include the ECU loom.

I do hasten to add........ that includes wastage, so not at all accurate.

You must have a huge grin on your face driving it on the road after all that hard work.....looks amazing!

Blast out to a country pub chasing a pair of tuned Astras, took Grandson with me, he couldnt stop giggling shouting ' give it some more beans Grandpa'

Looks like a nice run out. So, apart from needing more power, are you discovering things that will need to be different? Is it what you had expected and hoped?

The only thing on the car that could do with some more power is the brakes,  there's nothing wrong mechanically with the way they work as everything is brand new, you just have to remember that they were designed 30 odd years ago for old and very slow cars.   But that is part of the charm of the car, If I had wanted pure performance throughout, I would have chosen something more modern.

So far it has far exceeded what I was expecting and is more than enough to have some serious fun,  I am thoroughly enjoying it. I would like to say that it held its own with the Astras, but they have both had rather a lot of money spent on engines and suspension along with the two drivers having a reasonable idea as to what they are doing behind the wheel.

trouble being, we drive moderns more then we drive the Dutton, they all have servo assisted this that and the other. I am considering fitting a remote servo in the B+ just to aid the feel of the braking. The Sierra has one and it works well feels good etc. Many are now going PAS as well, I don't find that necessary even with the 10" steering wheel.

At Castle Combe I found that it took a lot of strength to fight the steering to get around the corners with my 14" steering wheel. So much so that I found myself holding my breath to help brace my body. I did about 40 laps in total and the whole top half of my body aches now - arms, shoulders, neck, the lot! On the road the Legerra is nice and light but on the track I think that PAS would have made a big difference. With the Toyo R888R's the Legerra was managing 0.978g in the corners!

Lovely sunny evening, so buckled the Mrs into the S2 and went out into the country to a pub for a bite to eat, Now thats what its all about chaps!!

Was she impressed with the Dutton?
