@ Scott - I have a spare escort heater unit. :)

@ Daryl - I took it to bits, you didn't need it...

fan doesn't wok. Matrix leaks from at least two places. VERY rusty, probably from all that leaking!

just easier to find something else i think, already chucked it out now so too late.

Scott... be more fault specific  buggered isn't an error code I recognize....

1- Does the fan work? if yes proceed to step 2 if no replace with 7 inch rad cooling fan.

2- Does the matrix leak? If yes, recore or replace if no go to step 3

3- Is the casing all rusty (probably yes) wire brush and repaint.

4- are the heater flap foam seals shot? wire brush then use draught excluder from BnQ to replace.

Even if you have to do all the above (excluding matrix) it'll cost you less than a 'decent' electric one.

My biggest problem with the Escort heater is that mine is buggered!!!!

The Dash is a grp after market classic mini replacement, loads of them on ebay and it's plenty wide enough for the Leggy.

Quite a nice shape, origin?

As to heaters... I really don't know why everyone has such a problem with the old escort box. New seals and a new fan and its a good little heater when ducted properly, its tucked away in the passenger footwell, pipes are easy to get at under the wheel arch and its certainly kicks out enough heat to warm a Leggie... put the controls over on the left and make sure to fit the cables before fitting the heater in the car...

I'm considering using a good quality electric heater then i can leave out the plumbing and bulky heater box but no definite decision yet.
