Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

I have heard of 2 or 3 phaeton's up for grabs. They are in the Silverstone area and have 1600 Xflow engines....
One has been a trials car and was a championship winning trials car a few years ago appearing on BBC top gear.
The guy is looking to sell them to DOC owners for preservation but may break them if no interest. ....

In communication with the guy at the moment as I may add it to my "nearly new" kit collection
But holding out for another kit at the moment so loathed to commit

Or maybe car was never finnished
Hard to tell in black but looks like
No fixings drilled for front bumper
No bonnet/ scuttle fixings
No steering shaft cut out in front bulkhead
No heater fitted
No cut out for gear lever
No handbrake fitted
No no plate light/s fitted
No "shadow" in the gel or holes from a plate being fitted
Still few cars out there like this, people got them home and fit 24 bolts and have a rolling chassis in a weekend
Everything after that was a little bit more complicated an some people just "froze" or "OMG what have I done !"
Fitting brake pipes, engine an exhaust or wiring ect
Then pushed to the back of the garage an forgotten

That's interesting, Steve. No running gear and no V5. Either it was never registered or else ... maybe the V5 and engine have gone into the same new car?
