Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

Any one out there willing to put their hopefully standard (as near as possible) Dutton Phaeton (or a Malaga B+) on a show stand for the duration of a show with 20-30 similar early kit cars at Donnington?

The car should be as early as possible with a tidy appearance and on as near as possible contemporary wheels and as close too the factory design as is feasible, it does not need to be a concourse car  just tidy. Something to show us all in a good light. Suggestions please.

Oops didn't mean to suggest that the Dutton should be 1970‘s but that it would be amongst other 1970‘s cars besides S1‘s are mostly 1978-9 reg

Surely if Ian wants Duttons from the '70's then many of the duttons were with the separate wings.

John Allen's car looks pretty clean from the pictures he's posted and it was a factory but car.

Ade, I couldn't tell the difference! paint work is not my strong point. anyway of telling? other than educated guess (for me) that the paint is at least 15years old. may be original!

I suggested Steve Heaps car to Ian and he said no due to the front cycle wings...

Andy Griffiths is currently 'down under' on some sort of staff transfer or something.

John, is your car painted or gelcoat?

Hi, unfortunately we live too far away ....

Olli and Gunter have very orginal S4 on offer .....

Our Malaga was altered only by the quality.

Best regards from Switzerland

Its a very dark blue, I'm hoping that a tin of coloured polish will help.

Ade, I'll forward all the pics I have to you.

Hi John,

Email is membershipsecretary@duttonownersclub.co.uk

And worse, your car is black isn't it...:-( Any flaws in the prepwork will be magnified 10 times as soon as you top coat it..Still, it might be an idea just to run a polisher over it and see what happens

Morning all,

In answer to Ade's question "what do you need to bring it up to 'show' standard and is there anything you need help with?" what the car desperately needs is a respray. there are spiders all over the body, boot etc. side panels are stone chipped. I do need to improve my temporary hacking of seats. roof and doors are in good nick as are from the former ployic or what ever the companies called. I know they've changed names now but if I'm correct from what Ive read on here they have original patterns.

Please let me know what you all think. ultimately i cant afford a full respray ready for 1st Sept. Boss lady is good and let me spend money as and when needed but for a descent full respray just haven't got the cash as getting married next year!!!!!!!

Ade, or any one else for that matter, if you want more pics etc direct to your email just tell me ur address equally more than welcome to pop to mine and "inspect"

It has to be a phaeton (Malaga B+) Ian wants a car to be with others from the 70‘s (or earlier) to show the beginnings of the kit car industry. he is looking for iconic marques. of which the Phaeton is prominent.
