Thanks for the offer Paul,

I can get bodywork from Pete Brown but the gel coat finish is not very good and it can't really be used without painting. Painting is the big problem, I don't have the skills, equipment or facilities so I have to sub that work out, when I got some quotes for repainting the car I sold to Pete Clayton the best I could get was £1200. Thats whats killing the project. Whatever bodywork I use it'll need painting. Thinking outside the box and using other bodywork might make the project viable as would adding value. The best way to add value to a Dutton is to make it not look like a dutton! However the dutton massive screem at such suggestions leaving me with a car that needs more money spending on it that it'll ever be worth. I could buy a decent S1 on the road for sub £2k so spending £2k + just to resurect the car I have doesn't make sense. It just occurred to me that adapting the donkervoort style with a Bplus bonnet might add value and it would be different, however judging by the coments you would have thought I'd force fed people with spoonfuls of marmite:-o

Can't beleive that between the lot of us, we havn't got a set of S1/S2 body panels that you can make use of ..... I have a new S1 dash/scuttle that I am not going to use, if you remember, I had it made by PB earlier this year, but wasn't too happy with the fit ....... possibly just me being picky !!   You are more than welcome to it FOC if you want to come and get it.

I have an S1 Phaeton with no bodywork, have not been able to locate GOOD bodywork for anything like viable money. If I'm gonna do something with it I need to thing a bit outside the box. When I last suggested bodywork alternative which would have made it look totally unlike a Dutton I was berated as everyone said if it doesn't look recognisably like a Dutton then it wasn't one. Hope is fading for my S1 and the chassis will probably be scrapped as its getting rusty and the log book sent back to the DVLA.
