If you scan something into a PDF, like the build manuals, it is normally very large but if you publish a document to PDF from Microsoft Word or Star Office then it is pretty compact. For example my Christmas Letter 2012, which is two sides with 13 pictures and 1600 words, is 390Kb in PDF (printing quality) or 140Kb in PDF (web quality) and 460Kb as a Word document - also a damn good read, if I do say so myself!
PDF's can be made to be tiny, 200 page instruction manuals can be made in to files only a few meg. In my opinion the club shouldn't don't do away with the printed but make a pdf also available as a download for members, would become a useful resource.

That's not allowed, getting Martin excited is not an option.
Steady on there Ade ....... you'll get Martin going talking about train fetishes :-0 and am loving the angry smiley, its brilliant.
Paul will understand...
I got my email access back tonight, had to do my own tech support, contact our service provider, sort out access rights, prove identity, accept T&C, in triplicate before I obtained a password reset...
And for my trouble I got spammed by legacy emails from previous membership secretaries online experiments, holidays, steam train fetishes....
