The only problem with the S2 front suspension is that the coil-over tends to foul the inside of the wheel or tyre on full lock. The TCA mounted shock is well out of the way. That's why my Melos had a much better turning circle than my Legerra. Obviously, being a Dutton, the Legerra turns sharper one way than the other!

Not sure Roy but i would imagine some Fabrication work will be needed anyway, you'd need  the tube on the end of the wishbone for the lower shock bolt to go through plus my shock upper mounting point is higher. The TCA's on the car at the moment were S1 legerra where the upper mount was lower, i have an S2 legerra where the upper mounting point is higher. Does that make sense or am i waffling?

It would probably be easier to Fab the TCA brackets!

I have adjustable TCAs to fit to my S3 Phaeton, but obviously these will need modified with the brackets for the bottom shock mount. I was wondering if I could move to this setup to save myself some fab work, because I'm that lazy. But it looks like I'd be fabbing up the taller shock turret anyway, so it would be swings and roundabouts really.

Understood. Thanks for the explanation, all!

Yes Roy i've got standard Escort TCA's on the way, don't need to modify as the shock mounts on the wishbone instead. When i first got the car and all the bits i had some Legerra S1 parts as well so it's been fun sorting out what's what.

Ok, so standard Escort bottom arms would be usable there? Thanks for the replies chaps.

Its just evolution Roy. Later S4's, Melos's and Legerra's had different suspension mounts to earlier cars, taller shock turret and the lower shock mount moved onto the upper wishbone.

Can someone explain to me what's going on here? Looks like a mix and match of escort-based Phaeton suspension and... something else altogether. What's the thinking / benefit? Cheers.

Hi Dave, believe it or not my anti roll bar mounts are perfectly aligned. I know right!!!!!!

Yeah i know about the chassis but planning on fitting a roll cage so that should stiffen things up nicely.

You know to strengthen the chassis .....and relocate the anti roll bar mounts?
