Dismantling my spare engine block.
As you can see it's now in bits, all carefully laid out on a clean board. What you cant see clearly is crud, oily rust particles which have crept in everywhere, Dave is bringing me some engine wash tomorrow to clean up this mess with. By this time tomorrow I hope to have a pile of nice clean parts to put back together.
The engine block is going to be washed off and tidied up before being painted, then I can strat to put it all back together all being well. More photo's to follow tomorrow night.

Seats not seals !! :-)) Tis always wise to get them re cut, and then lapp the valves in for a propper job.
I suspect at least one of them to be leaking as I used to get the traditional 'puff' of blue smoke on startup.
What are the valve seats like on the new head?
Been out in the man cave all night, more progress made.
I took the RS sump off the old engine and found this...
Glad I don't have to clean that lot out just yet.

Cheers Steve.
Sue's done dinner, I reckon a night watching TV and being a cabbage with the laptop has got to be in order.
Legerra rebuild post updated.LINK
Rebuild thread started on Mr G's forum here.
At the moment BV I doubt my Leggy would top 60HP, It had done a few miles before I fitted it and its now done 40,000 more with little on no maintainance. If this new build works and is fairly smooth with enough power to get me up hardknot pass then I'll be happy.
