Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

From 12pm tonight, there are 157 days until the National Kit Car Show at Stoneleigh, starting on Sunday 4th May 2014.

I now throw down the gauntlet to all who frequent this site ...... the challenge is :- if you own a Dutton, you must get to the show, driving your Dutton  under its own steam,  (some of you have MANY to choose from)

Its about time we showed the regulars who attend each year, in their cars, that we support them. So come on chaps, who is going and what will you be driving??

My Phaeton S2 will be there!!   (hope, prey and work harder) :-)

Daryl and I will need a couple of car transporters.  Problem is that Rob Saul bloke has already booked them all for his fleet.

No, just need to drive one them there !!!

Will be there S3 with Essex v6

with the twin cherry bombs you should hear me about half way up the M6

Hells Bells Rob... Is that the one you bought not long ago or one of the fleet.

Had it a year now, been up and running 5 months but have bothered to put it on the rd yet

apart from a couple of test runs (one of the advantages of living in the stick !)

I expect to be there in the handbag Legerra. It missed out this year because of water leaks but those are now sorted and it made the trip to Exeter and back in fairly poor weather, so Stoneleigh should be okay - it is about 90 miles from me, what could possibly go wrong? The car could do with some fiddling with but there are no major obstacles to overcome.

I'll be there in something, probably the Sierra. I don't plan on doing much in the Legerra until Its sorted now, may take a while.

We will probably all be retired by the time you get that S2 of yours sorted Mr Heasemen !!!!

Nuts to you Heasman :-) My boss thinks I have already retired...

I built the Legerra in 6 months from the ground up, changing some bushes, doing a bit of welding isn't going to take long, respray and new interior may take a bit longer.

My plan is to be there in the Legerra.....however i don't know what engine it will have or which gearbox (not the one it has now as it is VERY poorly)

Hopefully, fingers crossed i will be there  in the melos , sorry edit  I WILL  be there in the Melos  even if i have to AA  it there :)

now, anyone got a spare crossflow that i could slip in to ensure i do get there.

i could go for the S1 to be put back on the road, however it needs a full rebuild and i plan a few mods for it. one of the things is to make the rear body work/axle some 4" wider and possibly fit a sierra diff and unaltered drive shafts, but whether it will be a De-dion or fully independent rear end is still to be decided. i have cortina uprights (recent find in local scrapyard £5 each) so the triumph front end is likely to go (undecided on that at the moment as it has occurred to me that the Legerra might get the 'tina front end.)

I also plan for the S1 to get a B Type front end using some Westfield clamshell wings i have got (it will have a Dutton style grille opening but the nose cone will be separate from the bonnet section)

So as i say the Legerra needs a gearbox, possibly the Zetec engine (nothing wrong with the RS 2000 pinto it has... (allegedly)) and the heater / demist sorting as well as a fuel tank (i have the offer of a MK1 van tank....) i also want to get the wheel base the same both sides of the car.....only simple stuff ;-)
