I have used it off and on for twenty years with varying results, very unpredictable due to the difference in the alloys used nowadays. Japan stuff is the worst, old British stuff is best. Still prefer the penetration of a tig weld to replace the material rather then the surface bond of this. Technoweld due the same kit.
There is a particular type of generator I service that has two M8 threaded lugs on the cylinder head, one of which breaks off due to the load vibrations. Going to try it on that, if I can repair it and charge half the price of a new cylinder head ...... win win.
I remember doing my city and guilds finals, we had to produce a frustrum of a cone, a half of a sphere, all from sheet alloy,and then alloy weld them together with oxy acetylene. You were not allowed to clean off the weld on completion. It was a " bum squeak" task. The trick was the final closure, get it wrong and it would blow, had to let it cool down first. Final test was a dunk in a water tank test for leaks. 40 years ago and I can still feel the nerves :-)
Just informed by her indoors it was 45 years ago, ouch!

I bought some at Stoneleigh in 2014, then learned how to mig ally, its still in the garage.
What it doesnt tell you in the instructions is to 'tin' both surfaces first and that a normal blowlamp just doesn't cut it heat wise, in fact the chap at Stoneleigh lied and said a butane torch would be hot enough, utter bollox.
Butane is for lighting cigarettes :-)) You need propane, far better, never had heat problems with it, as you say need to tin both surfaces.
I have used it before it works quite well.....sometimes. the heat is the issue i have used blow torches but some things would need better more intense heat. just like he shows in the video...
