I have just been and looked at the forum and the people seem to be missing the point. If you build a car that currently has no indentity or that has never been registerd its required by law to be put through a IVA test.  There is absolutely no excuse for swapping viechle indentifacatin and the these people who seek to justify it on that forum do not seem to under stand the leagle requirement.

In Conclusion Dave it means I now own your car as I have applied for the LOGBOOK, would you like to see it on here?

The Plod's not to bothered, so I may apply for your Quantum logbook too!!!

Oh I scrapped your trailer too, go on tell the diddle I bet they laugh.

Sorry mate I couldn't resist the joke, it makes you wonder though what you could get away with as long as you were prepared to argue the point.

My Job I think...

Opps! It's a fair cop gov, "Holds out hands waiting to be handcuffed"
I meant it was my job to argue the point and get away with it...:-)

You can see where our problems lie, the authorities just do not think that the "ringing" of old kit cars is a problem, and if they thought it was a problem, the system as it is will weed out the cars from the market place. one contributor (insurance moderator) thought that rebuilding an old kit (with a new chassis etc) car as a modern kit car was a better solution than preserving an old kit car!!

It is up to us (the kit car world + other clubs) to devise a workable solution to the problem and to present it to the authorities. they are not interested, its never going to affect enough people to affect their votes!
