Evening chaps,
Ok, I've decided in my head that I'm going to fit the Corsa electric column to the Phaeton. Why? Because it's bloody heavy chucking it around an autotest, and that's before the quick-rack gets fitted...
So, I've got a good grasp of electronics, so that's not an issue. As it's an autotest car I'll be leaving the vehicle speed input open circuit, so it gives maximum assistance all the time. If I ever put it on the road or go sprinting, I'll rig something up to provide an appropriate speed signal.
Yes, I have read the Super 7th Heaven article... very helpful!
My query is about actually fixing the column in a Phaeton. Anyone ever done it? Did you keep any photos of what you used in the way of mounting points or brackets?
Just looking to gather as much info as possible - so anything very gratefully accepted!
Cheers!

Someone on here is doing it, Mr.Allen??
Anyone got anything to add? I picked up a Corsa column today from the scrapper. Had a look at the rack last night - it's either a 2.4 or 2.5 turn rack which is about as "quick" as you can get. I'll definitely need power steering!
Big steering wheel, along with Popeyes forearms :-)) and one of those twirly knobbie things. Ever seen a wheel spanner?
Got the twirly knob thing, but don't want to achieve an over-developed right arm from twiddling my knob too much...
lmfao....funny :-))))
