Yes , all in all she enjoyed it, hopefully will be a bit more comfortable with respect to the wind turbulence when I have finished and fitted the new rear wind diffuser.  I have sourced some nylon covered fiberglass mesh used in midge screens, very tough and light. This will be fitted into a custom tubular frame the same shape as the internal dimensions of my roll bar.

As its a bit quiet on the forum and a bit quiet here at home, as I have the house to my self due to SWMBO being at work, which means that there is no TV blaring out with some crappy soap opera or a bloody reality tv program....... just peace and quiet!  I thought I would give you all an update.

Q443BCH has now had a two month shake down since being back on the road. As you would expect there are a number of things that require attention. The list ......

1.  Oil leak from the top lid of the gearbox, even though it had a new gasket.

2.  Oil leak from the o/s half shaft bearing.

3.  Fuel tank filler needs an air bypass tube. It takes for ever to fill the tank even though it is vented.

4.  Speedo needs calibrating, at 70mph it is showing 130mph

5.  Make and trim new seat cushions and back rest. The old back side goes to sleep after an hours driving!!

6.  Brighter head lights, LED conversion i think.

All in all, not bad.  I am looking forward to next year and getting some good use out of the car.

LED technology isnt a patch on good headlight bulbs as it doesn't yet have the 'throw' despite being too intense to look into...

I fitted these in the Transit and Legerra, thoroughly recommended...

Ouch... sorry for the huge picture .... anyway, normal retail is about £20 I think.

I havent looked into it much yet, isnt the throw to to with the reflector?

thinking about leds for clock lights dull as ditch water in sierra

CBS do some cracking little 12v led for instruments, cheap too!

ill have a look do they do different colours ??

Think it is only bright white, but I haven't looked recently Brian.

i would like some with a red glow ....

Perhaps what we need is a definitive Mythbuster styleee experiment testing the differences.

Illumination intensity, diffusion, penetration length, over varying distances.

Will have to wait till after Christmas, hopefully will have new filming equipment then

have you sent it to bed for the winter paul. im thinking about leds for sierra any info please

There is a good reason why UK manufacturers don't use LED's for dip and main beams, they just don't have the range that a Xenon or HID bulb does.
