he has nicked the pick to get intrest in the car but the car he is selling is nothing like as good as Tom's

jeese that chassis looks in a bad way!

i think it is clear he is selling the log book plus some parts the chassis belongs to the log book and he has said the chassis no longer exists as he has cut it up......

stamford speed shop,,,, he,s of the rods n, sods forum

some one else was enquiring about what he,s upto the other night,,,

and he,s doing better at selling than me ,,, he,s got a bid,,

He isn't selling a car only bodywork and a logbook

Ade!

there,s alot of it going on close to home...

To be fair guys , he specifically states he will not split the listed items which to me reads that he will not sell the V5C separately. If he bought all those bits to rebuild the car and then found the chassis to be rotten then I feel sympathy. Seems to me there is a fair collection of parts for someone with the metalwork to back it up. It would be legit to use a genuine dutton chassis that was in good condition and rebuild the car, making a complete new chassis would be a bit naughty as it's not a genuine replacement part.

Someone will buy it and from that point on its out of his hands. At least he has been straight up about the fate of the chassis as its very possible an S1 could have rotted away if left in the wrong location for any length of time.

Who bought Wayne Davies chassis and body off him?

Using a second hand chassis is not legit.......making a new replacement like for like is.......

But wern't you going to use a 'second hand' chassis Dave!

Not really. it was always a plan to cut both and build one. i had thought of starting again to use the second but it was more work. besides i wasn‘t saying don't do it. if it saves a dutton i am prepared to squint a bit at the rules as anyone would. i was just saying a chassis 1 day old from a registered car has an identity, a new one does not.

Not the one I sold Ade, that had a good chassis on it and the lad lived in South Yorkshire.

Thats what I meant Wayne, take two, make one.
Using a replacement chassis is only legitimate if it is a factory produced item Dave. Making your own is NOT.
And thats from the chap at the DVLA.
