Rob,
Not new laws this happened more than a decade ago but it's happened to others, sometimes comes up on locost builders as a topic now and again. I'm sure it's in the road traffic act somewhere but that's a huge book and I don't have access to one at the mo

In my case I bought a car in rugby with not tax or mot, booked it in for an mot in Milton Keynes, got stopped in weedon and the copper was reading me the riot act when a numpty coming the other way did a dangerous overtake and slid off the road in front of us. Copper told me to be on my way and don't do it again!
Couple of people on pistonhead who seem pretty up to speed on motoring law insist there is no cap on distance
One did say that there is a chance if you get stopped there is a good chance of the copper wasting your time for an hour or two till they get a correct reading of the law

Grrrr   been trying to add to Daves electrical post, but I cant seem to put a picture in below the text !!!  If I write, then try to insert the picture underneath, it puts it on top .......... any ideas :-(

open box....

click second icon from left (insert picture) browse to the picture required click ok and upload...

then click to lower part of picture so the cursor is there at the bottom.....then enter text.....oooops

anyway write the text hit return and then insert picture.......

Try pressing return and putting a blank line then paste photo on the next line

Strange how technology works, Ive never had a problem before on here, but the only way I could do it was to cut the picture and re paste it below the text.

Having been dragged round Tesco's this morning for the Christmas shop (only time of year I am)  and being relieved of a considerable amount of my hard earned !!!   I am now off down the workshop to start a serious session on the Phaeton, all paying workshop work is now postponed until the new year, I have 5 whole free days to concentrate on Duttoneering.  Pics and updated to follow.

Good observation Wolly, I started this post last March for people to waffle on, but it slips off the bottom and gets forgotten

:-)))

theres a lot of chit chat going on here, have you folk not got work to do?

yeah i know how that feels, ok my outgoings are nothing like that, but just sat down and worked out what i need for the flat, at least once the cars legal, i can get out to car boots etc,  anyone ever tried to carry a fridge, cooker eetc in the back of a Melos :))  thank goodness i didnt buy a pheaton  that back seat is going to come in very usefull in the next month or so.

My rebuild post has been updated over on Mr G's site.

Don't you live in Eastbourne? You'll soon be in a deckchair with the blue rinse brigade watching the girls go by.
