"If you register as a VHI then you will be under the microscope. They are chasing 'lost revenue' cases where the DVLA think they have been defrauded (thats on top of the rules changes they are seeking to bring in) so attempting to claim VED…"

Adrian Southgate replied to Mike's discussion MOT exemption for some vehicles over 40 years old
"No. Has to be pre 1960 as the rules currently stand. If it was still the donor car it would be eligible for historic VED exemption, however it is classed as 'radically altered' so if you try for it they may suck you in and issue a Q plate.…"

Uber bright yellow, currently on ebay but will contact seller, can collect on trailer and possibly deliver short distances. Only a 1300 but looks to be well sorted apart from fixtures and fittings and interior. Inherited project so maybe willing to negotiate with genuine purchaser. Currently on £300 reserve not met so get in quick and make him an offer before a breaker gets wind of it.See More

"Applies to 'age related plate' vehicles including kit and component vehicles, Q plates will not be exempt neither will vehicles that have been 'radically altered' from stock."

NTS Autoparts fast response vehicle

For those days when your parts just can't arrive quick enough, for sunny days when the transit just isn't 'fun'...

Project X...

Coming soon to a shed near me.

1997 DOHC, weber TC, MT75 box and Sierra fixed 3.72 diff in a Phaeton 3/4 hybrid.

I did some playing on gear calc and the theoretical stats look like this.…

Q835XSC - Dutton Legerra Series 2

Posted on February 21, 2015 at 20:00 166 Comments

So, collected last weekend and the first chance I get to go over it we have snow / hail / rain and gales... lovely if your a penguin I guess...

Q835XSC purchased from the factory in 1988, completed in 1990, stored for the winter in 1991 and there it sat for 22 years, possibly one of the saddest Legerras I have ever seen apart from my black one.

Sierra II

So the saga of the gearbox rear seal continues. When it had the rear crank seal done the garage also fitted a prop/tailshaft seal which promptly leaked just as badly as the one they took out.

When I had the horrible vibration issue it was coming from the prop not fitting into the gearbox. Thinking this might have damaged the bush inside the…

Hi Adrian

It would be ideal, but the timing is not on my side at the mo; the Wife is about to give birth to our first child in the next 3 weeks...

Also, you are the main reason I'm looking at a Dutton-I follow your threads over on Retro Rides, and its your Legerras that got me interested!

Hi Adrian, yes - just up't road. I'm afraid it's time for mine to go...... Need the space. I haven't used it for 7 years. Fired it up recently though, needed a new fuel pump..... Hard to find.

Hi Adrian, thanks for your message. BHP isn't an issue. My car won't be used on a track. It's more reliability I'm after. The plan is once the car is road legal again, enjoy it for a year or two here and then ship it to North Cyprus where I have a villa and looking to stay there long term. X/flow parts may be a little more thin on the ground there and it's not so easy shipping parts there. What power plant are you using?

Thanks for the lead on the hood n' doors I'll contact Monsoon. My original Phaeton appeared on eBay a few years back unfortunately I missed it, I think it may have gone to holland or germany, I do recall if had a colour change from red to blue.
