making a latching relay from an ordinary 4 or 5 pin relay.

This is a circuit for turning a relay into a latching relay.......

Why?

well you might want your fog lights to come on with your side lights (or dip) but when you switch off your lights the fog lights will trip off and not switch back on when the lights are turned back on.

the 12v supply for the momentary switch can come from ANY convenient place, once…

lifes dirty tricks

on my way home from work last night at 20:00 i managed to tear some muscles in my rt leg and it hurts like billy-o.....getting into the Phaeton is just not possible neither is getting  into my wife's Fiat Sciento, just way too painful.

the Hyundai was just about do-able to get me to casualty, but even getting out of bed was a struggle.

to top it all we told our neighbour that they had some loose concrete hanging off the chimney, and they called a roofer to come and sort it.…

OUT OF USE

Well car has become unuseable, Half filled the oil catch tank in 40 miles, Im a bit disapointed its this early in the season. I have locked it away in the garage and will not touch it just yet. I have to decide weather to change the engine to the SR20det or spend the money on rebuilding my existing engine, The later will most likely be the way I go, with a few extra goodies along the way to beef it up.

The Northern Duttoneers North Yorkshire Spring tour

Saturday morning and the sun is shining making a change up North. We met up at the Black Dog Pub in Belmont just north of Bolton for our first tour of the year.

Disappointment was on a couple of faces, Ade and Steve Kerry had not met the deadline. Although much midnight oil and elbow grease was used to try and get the Phaeton and Legerra ready it wasn’t to be.

Ade had the radiator blow on the Leggy on Friday night whilst travelling home from work,…

Handbag Legerra Developments

After getting the Legerra home a few weeks ago, I have been using it as my daily commute. I have done a few things to it to 'improve' it:

1) I have removed the centre console because I could not take my foot off the clutch with it in place because I have to get my knee next to the steering wheel and my calf was hard against the edge of the console. I have still got to find a place for the dials and switches that were there. When removing the heater controls I found that the outer…

Oil cooler mounting

Just brought a 13 row oil cooler going to fit this on Sunday. Thinking of mounting it front of the steering rack being told it should be mounted low to avoid drain back to the sump?

Been down south and survived.

Gave the Sierra S2 abit of a run out today, to Islington north London, approximately  328 miles there and back and no problems, i think i managed to do it without being spotted by the southern fraternity ,good job really as i did'nt have my passport !

Back end

Ive been doing loads of work on my S3 Phaeton project over the last few months and am now starting to think about bodywork.

I love the front with the ground scraping spoiler, but I'm less enamoured of the rear, even thouhg I've now got a bumper for it.

Any suggestions or good pictures for rear end styling?
